Importer and warrantor is Tri Star Sporting Arms of North Kansas City, Missouri. Type is AR platform, with Benelli / Beretta inertia type mechanism. Like their Italian ancestors, the KRX will require a break-in period before it will cycle light load shells. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, magazine, return mechanism and internal parts built into an alloy receiver with hard polymer lower housing, modular buttstock assembly and forend assembly.. Barrel is 20 inches with a ported, extended, .723 diameter Cylinder choke tube. Thread is Beretta Mobil Choke type, and importer advertises and delivers consumer direct basis on choke tubes and recommendations therefore. Bore is Not chrome lined, so no deterioration worries with buckshot. Chambering is for 12 gauge shells, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch interchangeably. Sight system is detachable; its foundation is a 21 slot alloy M1913 Picatinny Rail on the alloy receiver; and a 32 slot Picatinny on the polymer forend housing. Rear sight is innovative 2 blade AR type, windage and elevation adjustable, and with one blade that is open and the other aperture. Front sight is red fiber optic mated to the rear; both are removable – the back with thumb screws and the front by depression slot and sliding. Forend has an 8 slot integral rail on its bottom, and decorative lateral rails. Both Magazines are 5 shot, and aftermarket and factory replacement magazines are available. Capacity, then, is 5 + 1. Release is AR15 type. Trigger is .330 smooth faced; the photo specimen pulled at 8 pounds with minimal felt creep and moderate overtravel. Safety is for right hand shooters, positioned AR style for the right thumb. Stock drop is 1/2 by 3/4 inch from the rail; or 2 1/2 by 2 3/4 with the sight installed. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 1 inch recoil pad. Stock has a mild 3/4 inch right hand cast. This is Not a southpaw friendly shotgun.
